Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Solar Funding USA collects, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It is written to comply with the Connecticut Data Privacy Act as amended with effect from July 1, 2026, and the New Jersey Data Privacy Act.
1. Who we are
Solar Funding USA, part of the group including Solar Panel Funding Ltd (England and Wales company number 11410851). Contact: hello@solarfundingusa.com, (888) 000-0000, TBC — US registered agent address.
2. What we collect
- You give us: ZIP code, homeownership status, electric bill band, roof shading, property address, name, email, telephone number, and your consent choices.
- We record automatically: IP address, timestamp with timezone, the full page URL including advertising parameters, referring URL, user agent, session identifier, time taken to complete the form, the exact consent wording displayed to you and a version identifier for it, and where used, a third-party consent certificate identifier.
- From advertising platforms: campaign, ad and click identifiers.
We record the consent evidence above because federal telemarketing rules at 16 C.F.R. s310.5 require a copy of the request for consent, the consent given and the date it was given, retained for five years.
3. Why we process it
To determine which solar financing routes and incentives are available at your address; to contact you about that enquiry where you have consented; to pass your details to an installer so they can contact you; to keep records required by law; to detect fraudulent and automated submissions; and to measure our advertising.
4. Who we share it with, and that we sell it
We sell personal information. Passing your details to an installer in exchange for a referral fee is a “sale” under Connecticut and New Jersey law, which define sale as disclosure for monetary or other valuable consideration. We are telling you this plainly rather than in a footnote.
Recipients: Momentum Solar LLC (Pro Custom Solar LLC) and, where applicable, another licensed installer serving your area; our hosting, communications, CRM and analytics providers; our advertising platforms; and professional advisers, regulators or law enforcement where legally required.
Connecticut residents may request the specific list of third parties to whom we have sold their personal data. Use Your Privacy Choices.
5. Sensitive data
We do not intentionally collect sensitive data as defined by state privacy law, and we do not sell sensitive data. Please do not send us Social Security numbers, financial account details, government identification numbers or health information.
6. Large language models
We do not use your personal data to train large language models, and we do not permit our processors to do so. This disclosure is required in Connecticut from July 1, 2026.
7. Minors
This site is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors and we do not sell, or use for targeted advertising, the personal data of anyone we know to be between 13 and 17.
8. Retention
Consent and call records are retained for a minimum of five years as required by 16 C.F.R. s310.5, and in practice for seven years to cover state limitation periods. Other data is kept only as long as needed for the purposes above.
9. Your rights
Depending on your state you may have the right to: confirm whether we process your data and access it; correct it; delete it; obtain a portable copy; opt out of sale, of targeted advertising and of profiling with legal or similarly significant effects; and, in Connecticut, obtain the list of third parties to whom your data has been sold.
We respond within 45 days and may extend once by a further 45 days where reasonably necessary, telling you why. If we refuse a request you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing hello@solarfundingusa.com with “Privacy appeal” in the subject line. We will respond to an appeal within 60 days. If we deny the appeal we will tell you how to complain to your state Attorney General.
Exercise any right at Your Privacy Choices or by emailing us. No account is required.
10. Global Privacy Control
We honor opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal we treat it as an opt-out of the sale of your personal information and of targeted advertising for that browser. It does not cancel a specific enquiry you have already submitted and asked us to act on.
11. Cookies and tracking
We use strictly necessary cookies and, subject to your choices, analytics and advertising technologies including Meta and Google advertising pixels and native advertising network tags. You can control these through your browser and through Your Privacy Choices.
12. International transfer
Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in the United Kingdom by our parent company, which uses appropriate contractual safeguards.
13. Do Not Call and messaging
We maintain an internal Do Not Call list and honor requests within ten business days. See Do Not Call and SMS Terms.
14. Security and changes
We apply administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the data. No system is perfectly secure. If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, where the change is material, tell you.
